Do enough people still use xanga to even warrant a contest? I guess we'll see. |

| an important questionI'm at my sister's house, and the kids are supposed to be in bed. Luke, 4, just walked into the living room. Apparently an important question was keeping him awake.
"Mom, is sixty ninety more than sixty two?"
"Yes. Goodnight."
"Oh. Night." |

| A couple of months ago on family vacation I taught my nephews how to lick a nerf dart and stick it to things like your forehead or glasses. Needless to say, I was ecstatic to see our lessons went well when my sister posted this pic on her blog. =)

| when things go wrong in just the right wayDo you ever have a day when it's just obvious that you have someone looking after you? I got home last night from a road trip to see my family at lake LBJ....4 hours by myself in the car....an uneventful, gorgeous drive. Well, I woke up this morning to go have breakfast with a friend, and my car barely started. It grunted several times before the engine finally got going. After breakfast I tried to start the car, but it would only give me these click click click noises. So, I got Liz to give me a jump and headed for AutoZone. I walk in, and who do I find but Alex....Alex my wonderful neighbor who rescued my housemates and me in The Egging of Spring 2008. I'm starting to think this man might be an angel!! He sold me a new battery (and used his discount to give me $12 off!) and then spent almost an hour of his time fighting with corroded connectors to get my battery out and the new one in. He had to replace some parts (which he wouldn't let me pay for), and he was friendly and visiting the whole time.
It's just so clear to me that God let my battery die at just the right time....on a day when I had nothing else to do and was at home, and then he sent friendly Alex to help me deal with it. Come to think of it, the last time I had car problems I also felt completely taken care of, which is really cool, because car maintenance really stresses me out and makes me wish I had someone (i.e. a husband) who could help me. How cool is it that I have a God who meets my needs and helps me in such practical ways?? |

| slippersIt's the middle of April, and I'm sitting out on my balcony doing school work in the middle of the afternoon. I'm wearing jeans and long sleeves, sipping on a hot cup of coffee, and I just had to go inside to get my slippers because I was cold!!
What a gorgeous day!! The air is crisp, and the wind is blowing through the trees. The sun is peaking through the branches, and everything is green. The air even smells amazing!! |
